My halloween nails

Hey dolls!!!

Today was my first day in my new store, and I cant tell you how exciting it is!!!! I have a meeting all day tomorrow so I had to do my Halloween manicure tonight. I decided to go the simple colorful route this time.

I started out with 3 coats of OPI Hi, Pumpkin. I then did one coat of Julep Anne on the tips. I then took a Black Stripe Rite and drew on the spider webs. When that was all done I decided it needed something else so I made a glow-in-the-dark top coat out of pigment I got the other day. I got 6 different glow colors and for this one I choose green :)
I got the inspiration for the design from this blog.

I cant believe how well the glow pigment works. this was only after about a minute of exposing my nails to the night. Its insane!!! bad thing is is that you can see anywhere it touches the skin so it took me a while to clean up.

Anyways I hope you all have a happy and safe Halloween <3!!!!!

Fall into Autumn: Autmn Ombre/Gradient

Hello again lovelies!!!!!

I decided to do the second challenge post right away as im sooooo excited for this one!!! I'm soo in love with the mani, it turned out better then what I had hoped!!!!!

I saw an awesome tutorial on YouTube by Robin Moses called Love Birds , I decided to use her tutorial for this manicure but not to do the birds and to bring the leaves and branches further up the nails. My goal was to make it look like falling leaves but to use all the colors of the rainbow like Robin did.

I started out with 2 coats of Barry M Nude as the base. I must say I love this color, its nice and sheer and matches my skin tone!!!!! I couldn't stop starring at it and it was only a nude!!!

Since I used so much for this manicure Ill break it down by hand :) I did use a mix of brown and black acrylic paint for the branches.

For the left hand I used the following :

China Glaze Hey Sailor
China Glaze Riveting
China Glaze Orange You Hot
Julep Hayden
Julep Blake
China Glaze Electric Pineapple
Acrylic Paints

For the right hand I used the following:

OPI Who The Shrek Are You
China Glaze Entourage
China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise
China Glaze Frostbite
China Glaze Tempest
Julep Anne
Acrylic Paints

Now sorry for the picture spam of the nails!!!!! I took soo many pictures and narrowed it down to 6 pictures out of about 40!!

I am so in love with this, Robin does a great tutorial and made it soo easy to recreate. Ill definatly be keeping this on for a while, but I do have other manis saved up to show you guys later on in the week so stay tuned :)

Fall into Autumn: Pumpkins

Hey dolls!!!

Hope your week has been going good!!! Ive been going crazy since the vacation between interviews for my new store and home life, but I have made time to do my nails just havent had time to blog :(
I have 2 challenge manis to blog about, some epic nail mail as its my month in my birthday group, and some new pretties :)

So today I have for you the first challenge post, pumpkins!!!

I had so much hopes for this manicure, it just didnt turn out as good as in my head. I loved Neverlands Nails creepy scratch nail art that I thought it would be the prefect technique for the base of the pumpkin. I started out with 2 coats of OPI Candle light, then did one coat of OPI Hi Pumpkin followed with 1 coat of Essence Wake Up. I think when I did the scratch card I pulled too hard as it went right down to the bare nail :(

I then used a bright green and a darker green stripe right for the leaves, but I used a base of white for them to make them pop more.

Now if you want to see more awesome manicures, head on over to visit the other lovely ladies who are participating in this challenge!!!

OPI Burlesque Little Teasers minis

Hey dolls!!!

Today is the last day of the OPI mini sets. The last set I picked up was the Burlesque Little Teasers. When this collection came out I did get a few of them, The Show Must Go On, Teas-y Does It, and Sparkle-icious.  OF course in this mini set is one of those colors lol.

I love the shimmer in this mini set, its just soo shinny and pretty. I love me a good shimmer :)

Left to right (sorry for the visible nail line) :

Ali's Big Break - red shimmer, 3 coats
The Show Must Go On! - deep pink shimmer, 3 coats
Take the Stage - warm orange shimmer, 3 coats
Rising Star - gold shimmer, 3 coats

I love all these colors soo much!! Again thou I just wish they were more opaque. I hate seeing a visible nail line and after 3 coats, it really should still be there :( But that wont stop me from wearing these beauties, ill just have to layer them on more next time!!!!

Now I have one more scheduled post for you guys tomorrow and then Ill be back on Saturday!!!! Hope you enjoyed all the mini sets!!!

OPI Pirates of the Caribbean Minis

Hey dolls!!!

Here is day 2 of the OPI mini collection, and today we have Pirates of the Caribbean!!!! I dont know about you guys but I totally loved that movie, who cant love Jack Sparrow?? But this is one collection I never bought a polish from and after getting my hands on this mini set im not to sure why...

I was sooo excited for that pink and purple!!! The colors are sooo dusty its amazing!!!!

Left to right:

Stranger Tides - Is a dusty mint green, 4 coats
Sparrow me the Drama - Is a grey based purple, 3 coats
Planks a Lot - A dusty pink , 3 coats
Skull & Crossbones - A greenish grey, 4 coats

I love the colors of these I just wish the formula was a bit better, the end 3 were really streaky adn that's why they need 4 caots. if they'd take less coats id totally be in love with this entire collection. But i must say that pink and purple are amazing!!! And im soo glad I now own them!!!

Tomorrow look forward for the Burlesque minis!!!!

OPI So So Skullicious Minis

Hello lovelies!!!

Today is the first of 3 scheduled OPI mini posts!!!! So the reason there's 3 is that the other day I went to my local Cosmo Prof and outta the blue they had 2 old mini sets there and the new Halloween one. So of course I picked up all the and they only cost $18!!!!

So today I have for you guys the So So Skullicious set. This is there 2012 Halloween collection.

I actually really like this collection, there all creams and nice and bring besides the black.

from left to right:

Candlelight - A bright yellow cream, took 3 coats
Morning Glory - A shiny black cream, took 2 coats
A-rose from the Dead - A bright pink cream, took 2 coats
Hi, Pumpkin - A bright orange cream, took 3 coats

I was very impressed with there black, wasn't even streaky which is nice. And that pink is to die for. So wish that came in a larger bottle as id be all over that.

Overall im really pleased with this collection, they have some good colors and great formulas and of course the cute mini bottles are a plus. Also you get 10 little nail decals with it that look like skulls which are also a plus.

Look forward to the Pirates of the Caribbean minis tomorrow!!!!

Fall into Autumn : Leaves

Hey dolls,

Hope you all are having a great weekend, and for my Canadian followers, I hope you all are having a happy Thanksgiving!!!!

I am going away on Monday for 5 days with the hubby to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. But while im gone on Tues-Thursday there will be posts on 3 OPI mini sets, so make sure to check them out :)

So for today's post I have the next Fall into Autumn challenge for you which is leaves. A while ago I made a fall franken called Autumn Rising. Its inspired by the changing eave colors of fall, so I thought it was appropriate to use that for today's post.

These swatches are 1 coat alone, 1 coat over black, and 1 coat over Julep Rachel.

But for today's manicure I decided to start off with 2 caots of OPI Taking the Stage, from the Burlesque collection. And then do 1 layer of Autumn Rising over top.

I do really like this combination, I think it really shows the colors of the fall.

Well dolls you'll get 1 more post from me tomorrow, and then dont forget about the scheduled posts!!!

Hello lovelies!!!!

I have started yet another challenge. Its with the same group of ladies that I did "April Showers Bring May Flowers" and "Lazy Days of Summer" challenges. This time around its called "Fall Into Autumn". This this we are doing one per week, so I'm less likely to fall behind this time ;)
The challenges are as follows.

So I decided to do Back to School tonight as tomorrow is the first day of school for the kids around here, and as usual I decided to do each nail something different :)

First I thought Id show you all the polishes I used for this as its alot then after the manicure Ill tell you which I used for each finger. I must say I think I nail'ed this challenge!!!!

OPI DS Magic

Hello lovelies!!!! Hope you all have had a great week. Thought id get one more post in before the start of the weekend. I'm heading up to see the niece and nephews tomorrow after work so ill be gone till sunday.

As you guys know I tried PVA glue as a base coat the other day and it worked great. The glitter just pealed right off. One complaint thou is that if you chip it the rest comes off really easy. I was doing alot at work that day and lost 2 nails during the day. One on each finger so my hands looked weird all day lol. But ill definatly keep using it.

For today thou I thought id go with a straight color, as I didn't realize how late it was. I was busy making more polishes and doing some glitter searching for a polish im gonna be make to give to a friend to sell for the proceeds to go to cats that need to be rescued. So stay tuned for that.

But for today I decided to pull out a polish I haven't used in a while, OPI DS Magic. I forgot how amazing this polish is. Its a bright blue shimmer that shifts purple. Its an absolutly gorgeous color adn a definite must have for any blue lover. For this manicure I used 3 coats.

Look how pretty that is, sadly couldn't get the purple to show up :(

Anyways dolls I need to pack and head to bed, Hope you all have a great weekend <3

LDoS: Summer Nights

Well dolls this is the last Lazy Days of Summer challenge post for me tonight and its Summer Nights. I wanted to try and re create that gorgeous deep blue night sky that you see when outside at night around a camp fire. Enjoying that lovely fresh summer air :)

So I decided to start of with 2 coats of OPI Russian Navy which is a gorgeous deep blurple. I then added one coat of the famous Max Factor Fantasy Fire, and then oped that off with 1 coat of Catrice Return of the Space Cowboys.

I think this has to be one of my favorite layering combos ever. I didn't want to take it off to do the next manicure. I loved this so much that Ill be painting my toes with it. Just look at the sparkle, and the depth in the color. It reminds me just like a night sky. Even the flash spots help to compliment it by looking like the moon. I'm just madly in love with this.

Now if you want to see more awesome summer head on over to visit the other lovely ladies who are participating in this challenge!!!

LDoS: Favorite Fruit

Well today I had a very busy/productive day. Since im so far behind on this challenge, I had 5 left and it ends on the 31st, I completed the last 5 challenges today. I also got my glitter order finally so I created 3 polishes. And of course ordered more glitter he he.

So ill post all of these posts over the next couple of days so be prepared for alot.

The Lazy Days of Summer challenge that im showing you now is Favorite Fruit. My favorite fruit is a cherry. I absolutly love them. So this manicure was quiet easy to decide on.

I started out with 3 coats of OPI Pink Friday. Once dry I used my dotting tool and my Red stripe rite to add the cherries. I then sued a Dark Green stripe rite for the stems.

I absolutly love the way this came out. I think its soooo adorable!!!

LDOS: Summer Ombre

I finally have another Lazy Days of Summer challenge post for you all today, and its my summer ombre. But before I get to that just wanted to let you all know I went through all your guys comments again today adn replied to you all. I love reading them all, they always make me smile :).  I'm also hoping that all my fellow Canadians are enjoying there holiday today like I am :) Just taking it easy and doing stuff around the house he he.

Now onto the nails. For my summer ombre I decided to use all pink holos, as i figured the holo would make them really summery :) And I must say that after doing this manicure I need more pink holos, my pinky color just doesn't fit well enough and I had no others to use :(

The colors I used are the following:
Thumb - Jade Delirio Rosa
Pointer - Hits Afrodite
Middle - Jade Seducao Rosa
Ring - Jade Deja Vu
Pinkie - OPI DS Extravagance

As you can tell im loving my Jades right now, they are just sooo awesome I just cant stop using them and staring at them. I know the DS extravagance isn't the best fit for these colors but I think it works and does it job he he and its a gorgeous color which is a plus :)

I then decided to add some stamping to it, I choose a full nail design from the DRK-A Plate that I haven't used yet and used Sally Hansen Insta Dry Silver Sweep to stamp with.

I love the way the silver looks with the pink holos. The top two pictures are taken in the sunlight coming through my window with no flash, and the bottom two are with flash in artificial light.

OPI Black Spotted

Today I have for you guys OPI Black Spotted!!! In case anyone doesn't know what it is, it a polish that OPI released only in France as part of there OPI Spider man collection. It replaced there shatter in it.
I was sooo excited to get a chance to get one of these babies. It did cost $28 cdn with shipping but is totally worth it.

I was a bit impatient with letting my manicure fully dry that's why there are a few cracks in it, but I don't mind them. The bottom colors from pink to thumb are all the following China Glazes : I'm with the lifeguard, Spontaneous, Sun-kissed, Flip flop fantasy, and Turned up turquoise.

I love the way this looks!!! I went over each nail a few times to get the more smaller circles and love it. Definitely worth every penny an soooo glad I was able to get this!!!

Now for the polishes I got today :). And work today the new China Glaze Safari collection came in!!! There are a bunch of pretty polishes in this collection bought I only bought 2 for now, Kalahari kiss and I herd that.

I also came home to some awesome nail mail from Elemental Styles. If you've never tried her polishes before definatly check her out on etsy shes awesome. I choose to get 2 minis the last time she restocked :)

Now to go paint my nails for tomorrows post, hope you all had a great Monday <3

ASBMF: News paper nails

I know its been a really long time since Ive done an April Showers Bring May Flowers post and that's because this manicure kicked my butt!!!! This was my second time trying it, the first was sooo bad I would even use it for the challenge, so today I made sure to have some patience and tried again.

The first time I tried this I did the soak the paper in vodka adn press it onto my nails. It was sooo faint and smudgy that way. This time i used a cotton pad soaked in alcohol, placed the news paper on it and then dipped my finger into the alcohol and wrap the pad around my finger. I got a much better result this way but I also got alot of ink on my skin which was hard to remove. I also used white as a base the first time I did this and this time I used OPI Care to danse?. I am wayyy happier with this manicure. And I do believe with practice ill get better.

I started with my right hand which is the first photo and you can see it got better as I got to my left hand :)

Have you guys ever done this manicure and if so have any tips?? I really want to try this with an Archie comic book again. Tried it once and got nothing to transfer lol.

Stay turned for my last ASBMF challenge in the next few days!!!!

DS Original over Black!!!

I know when I first started blogging I did a post of Opi DS Original. However Ive been seeing it in my helmer and its been screaming at me to use it again. So I decided to mix it up a bit and layer it over black to make it a bit different.

DS Original is an extremely holographic lilac color. Last time I wore this it was cloudy the entire time so hopefully this time ill be able to get a picture in the sun for you guys.

For this I did 2 coats of Orly Liquid Vinyl and then 2 Coats of Opi DS Original. I really love how the black adds depth to the polish. I also find it makes the holoness pop even more. I used a flash for the photos in artificial light :)

And heres one photo of it in the sunlight :)

Mmmm look at the holoy goodness!!! I cant even describe to you how much I love the polish. I really wish China Glaze and OPI would come out with more colors like this!

But if you guys want to see more awesome untried polishes head on over to some other lovely ladies in my birthday group!!!

Another Untried, Glitter Top Coat :)

Today I bring you another untried polish, or shall I say a few of them. I already posed my ombre manicure which is the base of today's mani. It was my first time using Max Factor Disco Mix and Intense Plum, as well as China Glaze Traffic Jam and Sally Hansen Fuchsia Flare. I then decided it need something on top so I used my new 365 Days Of Color polish, Old Time Movie!!

I must say i'm really impressed with Old Time Movie, i love how the glitter is really broken/torn in it. I think it also works really well with the 5 base colors I used :)

ASBMF: Ombre Nails

Today at my work I had inventory, being up at 445am means easy nails, and thankfully the April Showers Bring May Flowers challenge #5 is Ombre. Ive never done one before but figured choosing 5 colors that are similar wouldn't be to hard. Boy was I ever wrong. I think I spend a good 30 minutes trying to find 5 of one color in various hues. Lucky I own enough pinks he he.

For this manicure I ended up using OPI Pink Friday, Sally Hansen Fuchsia Flare, Max Factor Disco Pink, China Glaze Traffic Jam, and Max Factor Intense Plum.

I really love how well these 5 polishes go together. i think they transition really nice across the nail. Now I want to try this with blue he he or with using all glitter polishes :) Oh the possibilities he he
