Fall into Autumn: Pumpkins

Hey dolls!!!

Hope your week has been going good!!! Ive been going crazy since the vacation between interviews for my new store and home life, but I have made time to do my nails just havent had time to blog :(
I have 2 challenge manis to blog about, some epic nail mail as its my month in my birthday group, and some new pretties :)

So today I have for you the first challenge post, pumpkins!!!

I had so much hopes for this manicure, it just didnt turn out as good as in my head. I loved Neverlands Nails creepy scratch nail art that I thought it would be the prefect technique for the base of the pumpkin. I started out with 2 coats of OPI Candle light, then did one coat of OPI Hi Pumpkin followed with 1 coat of Essence Wake Up. I think when I did the scratch card I pulled too hard as it went right down to the bare nail :(

I then used a bright green and a darker green stripe right for the leaves, but I used a base of white for them to make them pop more.

Stamping and Dots

Good morning lovelies!!!!

I figured id do my post this morning since I love this manicure so much and cant wait till I get home tonight.

This is the first time Ive used 3 different plates, 2 different colors and a dotting tool, all in one manicure!!! And I can tell you now that it wont be the last time I do this as its sooo much fun.

So for the base I started out with Essence Color and Go in Wake Up!. Its a nice orange cream that applies perfectly in 2 coats.

Once that was dry I looked through my plates to see what Halloween ones I own, turns out I have 3!!! OB26, BM-305 and to-10 (I got it from chez delaney), and I used Konad White and Black from the stamping. Once the stamping was done I took Billie Purple and China Glaze Kiwi Cool-ada and did dots in those, which I think completed the mani. Ill tell you what plate I used one each finger :)

Thumb - BM-305
Pointer - OB 26
Middle - OB 26
Ring - OB 26 and BM - 305
Pinkie - to-10

What do you guys think??? I was originally only gonna stamp with black, so if I decided from the beginning to do the 2 colors I would have reversed the middle finger. But I still love this. I think its stinking adorable for Halloween!!!!

Anyway dolls hope you all have a great day!!!!!

Fall Into Autumn: Apples

Hello lovelies!!!

Sorry for being so MIA this week. It has been one crazy week at work. I ended up wearing my back to school nails till last night, I changed them to Zoya Carly and of course after a 10 hr day at work I forgot to take a picture of them :( And today they were too chipped.

But I do have a Fall Into Autumn challenge for you today. Tomorrow im going to a local flea market for some fresh fruits and veggies and then going to our local fall fair at night for the demolition derby so this manicure is quiet suitable id say. The challenge is Apples.

For this manicure I started out with 2 coats of Essence Color & Go Modern Romance. Once dry I used 2 coats of Orly Fresh to draw on the apples. I then topped those of with Nina Ultra Pro Electric Slide *Its a brand new core color, they just redid there whole line, new bottles and brush, same great formula thou*. Once all that was dry I drew on the stems, leafs, and shine with a Green Stripe Rite, Art Club Black, and Finger Paints Hip Hip Hue-ray.

I absolutely love the way this turned out. I do have to give inspiration to all the ladies in this challenge, as these adorable apple nails made me try these.

Also just to let you guys know spellbinding nails is having an awesome stamping/nail art giveaway!!!! make sure to go on over *click the link above* and enter. Shes giving away 3 totally awesome prizes!!!!

True Blood

Hey dolls, hope you all had a great weekend!!! Mine was really relaxing up north. Got to see a cute little town Ive never been to, lay by the lake and watch a family of deer outside the dining room window. There were 4 adults and 2 babies and they were absolutly adorable!!!! Ill post a few pics at the end of them. Sorry for the bad quality as it was through the window and they kept moving around all over the place, ha ha.

So for tonight's manicure I decided to do a True Blood one since the 5th season ends today. I'm very sad as im a huge True Blood fan, read all the books and seen all the episodes. So I figured it be very fitting. Since each finger is different ill tell you what I used on each finger after the picture :)

Thumb : Base is 2 coats of China Glaze Stone Cold, then I hand wrote True with Finger Paints Hip Hip Hue-ray Striper, and Blood with a Red Stripe Rite.

Pointer: Base is 2 coats of Essence Color & Go in Nude It, then I used a Red Stripe Rite
 to draw on the blood.

Middle: Base is 2 coats of Orly Liquid Vinyl, I stamped on the fangs/lips with plate OB26 and Konad White. I then filled in the lips with a Red Stripe Rite.

Ring: Base is 2 coats of China Glaze Stone Cold, I then sponged on China Glaze Hey Sailor and a bit of  Red Stripe Rite on the tips.

Pinkie: Base is 2 coats of Billie French White, I then used an old brush and splattered on China Glaze Hey Sailor and Orly Liquid Vinyl. Was my first time splattering polish :)

I really love the way this turned out. I definatly think it represents True Blood. And im so glad I got the OB26 plate as I love the fang image!!!!

Now for the adorable deer :)

Revlon Over The Moon Duo

Today while I was out grocery shopping and such I decided to treat myself to a few new polishes. I finally got the last to Essence color & go colors I was missing which were Glamorous Life and Ultimate Pink, and a Revlon FrenchMix duo in Over the moon.

I decided that since I haven't done a tape mani in a while id use the Revlon duo and have some fun with lines going in different directions. I really like the way this looks and think it would be really sharp in black and white as a pin stripe kind of look.

So I started out with 3 coats of the pink, if I were to wear this color alone I would use 4 cats to make it really opaque. It is a gorgeous baby pink thou with an iridescent blue glitter throughout it.

I then laid down all the tape and did a fairly think coat of the metallic turquoise over top. Next time ill make sure I let the second color dry a bit more before apply topcoat as on my left hand I got a bit of streaking.

I really do like these Revlon duos, and for $9.99 CDN, I think there a pretty good deal.
I may need to get one of the bright ones :)

And now if I didnt love this mani enough before I just added one coat of Models Own Indian Ocean over top or if and I cant stop staring at it!!!!

ASBMF: Fresh Cut Lawn

So just wanted to start off this post by informing my lovely readers on an amazing giveaway!!! Carli over at Konadlicious is giving away $500 worth of polish items to one lucky winner! That's right $500, includes gift certificates, brand name polishes, glass bead earings and indie polishes!!! Definitely by far one of the greatest giveaways ever, so go over for a chance to win!!!!

Now onto today's ASBMF: Fresh cut lawn challenge. I figured this was the perfect time to try flocking powder. Not going to lie I did one had left it on for 10 minutes and then removed it. I'm not a fan of being able to feel stuff on my nails and this just isn't practice. It is adorable and fuzzy thou :)

I started off by using Essence Lets Get Lost as the base of the sky. I then used a make-up sponge and dabbed on Essence You Belong to Me and Billie French White. The base for the grass even thou you don't see it was Orly Lucky Duck. And for the flocking powder I used Recollections in Emerald. Don't mind the horrible clean up. Essence Lets Get Lost stained my skin biggg time!!!

What do you guys think about this technique? Would you try it?

Todays haul and nail mail from this week

I decided today that since I'm loving my Cult Nails from yesterday to much to take off today I would show you the 2 nail mails I haven't posted yet as well as one I got today and what I bought today.

I was very surprised today on how much self control I had!! I went into Trade Secrets, Cosmo prof, Claire's and Sephora and came out with only 4 things for myself!!!!

I also received my spring surprise, the 365 days of color nail mail and a new stamper I ordered a while ago :)

First with pictures of the haul :)

OPI Avoplex to go and Essie Matte about you *both for my swap with Zoe*, Lush Lemony Flutter *finally had to try this stuff after hearing so much about it and I'm already in love with it* and Make up for ever HD Powder *Best finishing powdering Ive ever tried, works on like any skin tone*

Zoya Carly from the new Surf collection *was really hard to choose just 1 but I had to be good*, Claire's Candy Shop *a dupe of Deborah Lippmann's Ive been lemming after* and my new double sided stamper *this took like 5 weeks to get there :( *

I think I had a pretty productive day buying this stuff, i did come across the new OPI Spider-man collection at Trade Secrets but decide to hold of until Cosmo prof gets them so that I get my discount he he. Gotta save money to spend on other polish stuff :)

Now for my nail mail!!

I love supporting Indie polish makers so when 365 days of color started selling there I had to get all five *Funfetti, cotton candy, explosion, summer dreams and old time movie*. She had super fast shipping and was a delight to email back and forth with and her polishes are even better in person!! I believe she now also carries these in full sizes if your interested :)

And last but defiantly not least is my awesome Spring Surprise from Carrie <3!!! She got me A Perfect 10 Sweet thang, Revlon scented Apple-tini fizz and Pinapple fizz, NYC matte top coat, Hard CAndy Beetle, and Confetti Pink Confetti, as well as a flirt stamping kit with a flower plate!!! So cant wait to try some of these out, will defiantly use them for some of my untried posts :)

Todays Haul

Today I decided was the day I was going to go to my local Shoppers Drug Mart to get the rest of the Essence Color & Go polishes. I didn't think id get them all since the display was half empty but funny enough they had all the polishes I was missing lol. So excited for these!!! Definitely a good day since tonight I begin a one month of untried challenge :) Not that I don't have enough already!!! Also bought 2 new books since I love to read.

But onto the pictures and colors :)

Aren't they all so pretty???

Choose me, Walk on air, Gleam in blue, Lets get lost, and You Belong to me.

WAke up!, Wanna be your sunshine, Luxury Secret, Nude it!, and Modern Romance

Also got Revlon Royal which is funny because the cashier was positive that was the color I was wearing when I have on Nails Inc Baker Street and Max Factor Fantasy Fire. I was like no hunny Royal is a jelly, I have on a cream and a Shimmer holo, and she said they look alike lol!!! Gave me a good giggle.

And of course I cant forget about the books :) Hunger games since Ive heard a lot of good things about it, and the most recent true blood finally hit paperback!!!! So excited :)

Green girafe print

So since this weekend is St patrick's day, i'm going to try and do green nails every day leading up to Saturday :)

For this manicure the base is 2 coats of Essence Lime up stamped with China Glaze Holly-day with plate MLS-05.

For my second time doing a full nail stamp I don't think its too bad, I do have trouble transferring the whole image thou. I find it doesn't like getting onto my tip as well :(

Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

Essence color & go swatches and reviews

Ive had a few ladies in my birthday group ask for swatches of the Essence color & go polishes I bought the other day. Since Ive already used 2 of them in a past manicure I decided to swatch the other 8 :)

This is 2 coats of Walk of fame. Its a great grey/taupe cream color, applied really smooth. I think this color would be great to do nail art on as I bet a lot of colors would complement it.

Break through took 2 coats. Its a magenta cream that was a bit thick but applied nice. Ill definitely have to try this one in the summer again as it much brighter than the picture captures.

This is 2 coats of High spirits. Its a dusty green with shimmer. Applied really well. I was kinda iffy on this color just looking at it in the bottle but its really nice on the nails.

Wanna be your sunshine took 3 coats and still isn't completely smooth. This has to have been my least favorite to apply. It was so think and streaky. But the yellow cream does have a gorgeous shimmer to it. Would look amazing on the toes :)

A lovely secret took 2 coats for this, and is by far my favorite color out of the 10 I bought so far. Its a gorgeous lilac cream with a pink shimmer in it. The picture really doesn't do it justice and will use this for a nail art manicure soon probably.

This is 4 coats of Sweet as candy. As you can see its still sheer. This would be great used as a french manicure but to build it up to an opaque color would take way to many coats.

Space cadet is a glitter topcoat with a slight pink undertone. I used 2 coats of it alone for this manicure but I think it would look live over any of there colors.

Here is 2 coats of Lime up. Its an awesome lime green cream that applies really nice surprisingly. The first coat went on quiet streaky but the second smoothed everything out. And this is what i'm going to use as my manicure for today, ill show some stamping on it in a bit.

Overall i'm really impressed with the Essence color & go polishes Ive bought so far. I definitely plan to buy the remaining 10 this weekend in which time ill swatch those as well for you guys :)

First full nail stamping!!

Today I went to Michael's and bought an acrylic paint set and decided I would do a full nail flower stamp onto my nails and color it in with the acrylic paint. So I left on my essence manicures from an earlier post today. Here it is first with just the white print.

I defiantly found that it was hard to get the whole image to transfer smoothly to the nail, but for my first time I don't think it was too bad and if I get bigger plate designs I'm sure it will be easier in the future.

I used yellow and blue to fill in the flowers as I figured they go good together.

Overall i'm happy with this mani, I know with practice it'll get better :)

Essence color & go

Yesterday I bought 10 of the essence color and go nail polishes. So i'm going to try and get swatches of them all up this week. Today I did one hand as Where is the party? and the other is Choose me.

Where is the party? is an awesome duo chrome that goes from purple to green. It was a bit streaky to apply but took two even coats for this mani :)

i'm actually surprised how well the duo chrome came out in the pictures. Definitely a nice color and well worth the $1.49 :)

Now Choose me is a must have, it went on perfectly, took two coats, and is amazingly sparkly!!!

the pictures really don't do this one justice!!! Later on I might stamp over top of them or do some form of nail art :) If i do ill post pictures!!

Hope you awesome ladies have a fantastic Sunday!!
